FAQ 1: What can be entered in the YVFR?

  • 4-H and FFA members may enter beef and dairy cattle, sheep, swine, goats and small animals in the YVFR.  Please see the Livestock Exhibitor Guide for specific details for each species.

  • Everyone is welcome and encouraged to enter non-livestock items in the fair, and for information about our open class exhibits, please click here.

FAQ 2: What do I need to bring with me for weigh in?

  • A filled out Market Health Record for each animal (Found on WSU extension website here)

  • A 4x6 picture of exhibitor with each market animal  (this will be given to the buyer for display, so please present the exhibitor and animal well)

  • Steer exhibitors must also bring **State Brand Slip, one set per animal, including Bill of Sale from previous owner and brand slip from Exhibitor to YVFR

  • Please check the Livestock Exhibitor Guide for species specific details

  • Record books need to be turned in by 9:30 pm on Tuesday (weigh in day).

FAQ 3: What do I need to include on our club/chapter pen display?

  • Each exhibitor must have an education poster/display above their pen, and 4-H clubs/FFA chapters will need to identify their pens with club displays.  Stall cards, provided by the fair, are required to be visible at all times.

  • In order to keep aisleways clean, many clubs and chapters use kick-boards attached to the bottom of the pens, but these are not required.  In addition, each exhibitor must furnish the necessary feed and water buckets for his/her animals.

  • More details about herdsmanship can be found in the Livestock Exhibitor Guide.

FAQ 4: What are the record book requirements?

  • 4-H or FFA Record Books are required for market animals for the 2023 YVFR.  Please see the Record Book page for downloadable record books, score sheets and other details.
